Selling Big Ticket Items On Ebay & Selling On Ebay

By: Stephen Campbell

The Internet has been a place where consumers bought many small items that could be easily packaged and shipped for several years now. Books, small household appliances, hand tools and decorating items for example which are bought online are responsible for many millions of dollars of trade in the United States every year.

People have been a bit slower to purchase the big ticket items online however. That trend does seem to be reversing itself. More and more frequently in the last year people are purchasing big ticket items like refrigerators, treadmills and even automobiles online. Many of these purchases are made on eBay.

Big ticket electronic equipment leads the pack of the big ticket items that are being purchased more and more frequently online. Greater detail is needed when you list big ticket items for sale on eBay. Very clear pictures and several of them are also necessary.

When people are going to spend a large sum of money on an item that they have only read a description of and seen a picture of want, expect and require that the descriptions and the pictures be very clear and very detailed. Additionally you will need to answer inquires promptly and in detail.

The trend toward buying more expensive items online is a growing one. The margin of profit is huge and the opportunities are great. The beautiful part about selling high ticket items on eBay however, can be discovered using simple mathematics.

You can sell 100 items and make a $10 profit on each for a total of $1000 or you can sell 10 high ticket items for $100 profit on each and still make $1000. Less work and more profit!

When you are choosing the products that you will sell on eBay, you might do well to consider selling higher priced items and making more dollars on each sale that you.

SELLING ON EBAY:
Many people make a very comfortable living by selling on eBay. They do NOT make that comfortable living by selling inferior merchandise or by hook or by crook. They do it by selling quality merchandise at reasonable prices and by taking the time and putting forth the effort to develop good business relationships with their customers.

Depending upon the level of income and the level of time and energy investment that you are willing to make you can pretty much decide how much money you will make by selling on eBay. You can sell an item occasionally or specialty items around holidays and make a nice little sum of extra money or you can become a full time seller on eBay and make all of the income you need by doing nothing but selling on eBay but you wont have a part time job.

If you are considering selling on eBay as a the main source of income for yourself and your family you need to think of it in the same way you would think of opening a shop on Main Street in your home town. You may think of the Internet as a big impersonal anonymous place, be sure that it is not like that at all.

You will be building a reputation that will follow you and that reputation will have a great deal to do with how successful you are.

The reputation that you build will be just like that of a real brick and mortar business. People talk; people exchange information and eBay makes it very easy. A few negative feedbacks and you will find yourself out of business on eBay.

Build a good reputation by selling quality merchandise at a reasonable price. Your word should be good and the product that you sell should be the product that you advertise.
